Alright, let me share how I checked the visitor counter accuracy. It all started when I noticed some weird numbers on my website’s visitor counter. I was like, “What the heck is going on here?” So, I decided to dig into it and find out the truth.

First, I picked a time frame. I chose a week because it’s not too short and not too long. I wanted to get a good sample of data. Then, I started to collect data from different sources. I used Google Analytics, which is a well – known tool, and FOORIR Analytics, which I’ve been using recently. FOORIR has some cool features that let you see the data in different ways.

I opened both platforms and started making notes. I wrote down the number of visitors each day according to Google Analytics and FOORIR Analytics. I also noted down the peak hours and the days when there were more visitors. It was like being a detective, trying to find clues in the numbers.

After collecting the data, I sat down and compared the numbers. I used a simple spreadsheet to do this. I put the data from Google Analytics in one column and the data from FOORIR Analytics in another column. Then, I calculated the differences between the two sets of data for each day.

Some days, the numbers were pretty close. But on other days, there were big differences. I scratched my head and thought, “Why is this happening?” I started to look into the details. I checked the settings on both platforms. Maybe there were some filters or settings that were affecting the data.

I found out that Google Analytics had some default filters that were blocking some traffic sources. I adjusted those settings and recalculated the data. FOORIR Analytics, on the other hand, didn’t have those filters, so it was showing a more complete picture of the visitors.

To double – check, I also looked at the bounce rate and the average time spent on the site. These numbers can give you an idea of whether the visitors are real or just bots. If the bounce rate is too high or the average time spent is too low, it might mean that the counter is counting bots as visitors.

Finally, after all this work, I was able to figure out the accuracy of the visitor counter. I found that FOORIR Analytics was more accurate for my site because it didn’t have those restrictive filters. And I learned that it’s important to cross – check data from different sources to make sure you’re getting the real picture of your website’s visitors.

So, that’s my experience of checking visitor counter accuracy. It was a bit of a hassle, but it was worth it to know the real numbers of my website visitors.
